Passports/Documentation
A passport is required to enter Costa Rica. For US citizens, no visa is needed, but if your passport expires within 6 months from date of entry, we recommend you double check entry requirements with the Costa Rican Embassy. Citizens of other countries should also check with the Costa Rican Embassy to determine entry requirements. US Citizens can go to U.S. Department of State for passport and travel information.
Immunizations
No immunizations are required to enter Costa Rica, however the Center for Disease Control does have several recommendations. We strongly encourage you consult your doctor or a travel clinic with questions on immunizations as EcoTeach does not provide medical advice.
Prevention of Bug Bites
Given the presence of mosquitoes and other insects in the country where you are traveling, and the risks associated with mosquito and insect-borne illnesses, we strongly suggest you visit theCDC website which offers excellent advice on reducing risks by avoiding mosquito and other bug bites and provides recommendations on the use of insect repellent. We provide links to health information in the countries where we travel here.
